AceHub - a gaming platform that replaced four separate systems.

To check their ranking, a player had to leave the forum. To see the server list, they'd open another tab. Each of these pages looked different, each had a separate account.

AceHub wanted to put an end to that fragmentation.

The player logs in once

Through Steam - one click, no account creation, no new password. They immediately see their profile, stats, ban history and server list.

Everything in one place, in one design, without ever leaving.

Competition that keeps players on screen

Every server has its own ranking - points, K/D, headshot percentage - with monthly and global views. Above the table, a countdown to the end of the round and the top three leaders with prizes.

Players see in real time where they stand. And how far they are from overtaking the one above them.

A forum that fits right in

Off-the-shelf forum solutions are either too heavy or look like they're from another era. We built our own - threads, posts, replies, categories, moderation, permission management. In the same design as everything else, with the same Steam account.

This was the hardest part of the project. And also the one no other server network had previously built directly into its platform.

The technology behind it

React with TanStack Query on the client side - page transitions are instant, and data refreshes in the background. The API was written from scratch in NestJS, because off-the-shelf solutions didn't offer enough control.

SourceBans was rebuilt as a module inside the application instead of a separate site. A Help Center with articles, FAQs and role-based access.

What came out of it?

A player visiting for the first time doesn't have to figure out where to register, doesn't configure an account, doesn't wonder where the rankings are. They log in with Steam and immediately know where they stand.

And they come back. Because the ranking keeps them hooked, the forum keeps them engaged, and the stats show they're making progress. AceHub stops being just a server network - it becomes a reason to return.
